| Celtic Fling & Highland Games Saturday & Sunday, June 23 - 24, 2012 11AM - 10PM Friday Night Concert • June 22, 2012 Volunteers are needed to staff the Celtic Fling and Highland Games Feis on June 23, 2012. As part of the annual Celtic Fling and Highland Games, one of North America's most popular and fastest growing Celtic festivals, the Fling's 2012 Feis will take place on 35 magnificent acres that comprise the Faire's 16th Century Tudor village. The two-day celebration of customs, music, dance and traditions of the Celtic people feature stages packed with Celtic music of the past and the rock infused music of today, official Highland Dance and Highland Games competitions, official Bagpipe Band competition and more than 100 Celtic craftsmen and merchants. The eleven Feis stages are all under cover. Feis Central and Hospitality are inside the 200 year old Victorian Mount Hope Mansion, adjacent to the competition site. Volunteers for the Celtic Fling and Highland Games Feis are from many different backgrounds including students, parents, staff and faculty of Feis dancers, young professionals and retired persons. It’s a great event for couples and individuals to meet new people. No specific experience is necessary – only enthusiasm! All Volunteers must be 16 years of age. Volunteer Schedule Our Feis opens at 7:00 AM, with the main event (dancing) beginning at 9:00 AM. While the majority of volunteers will be scheduled to begin work at approximately 8:30 AM, we will have the need for early birds to begin at 6:45 AM. We expect the Feis to be closed by 6:00 PM. Volunteers will be scheduled for a full day of activities.
